BattleDiabetes.com is Back up and Running

We’re back up and running from our database problem. We’ve cleaned out ALL the posts that weren’t our’s or that we wrote and also the links to other’s sites. We’ll be posting our new articles within the next few days and get back on track.

Click the forums link above and start making your own topics that you want to talk about. I promise to respond to everything I can with my own comments but I’m no expert. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a few years ago and has gotten worse lately(blood sugars over 180 for the last few weeks).

Talk to you soon.

I am very concerned that my blood sugars are irratic
lately. I am on insulin due to half of my pancreas having been removed (cancer). Don’t know what I should eat. Going to VNA meetings locally does not talk about insulin procedures since all the questions are from pill taking diabetics. This operation put me on the insulin regime. I would like to know what, when, and how much of foods to eat. I hate eating anymore. I never seem to eat after taking 8 units Humalog- within 15 mins. since I get busy and before I know it time has passed by 1/2 hr. to an hour. Then I’m up to 12 or 14 next time. (Take 38 U before bed of Lantus.) This cannot be good. Trying to keep on a schedule and end up eating dinner at 7:30 pm. Any help will be appreciated immensely.

Hi I am P.V.Sankar from India. I am 56 years old and a Chartered Accountant by profession. I am a known diabetic for the last 15 years and was taking insulin shots (30/70 huminsulin) besides an array of tablets. By dramatically(drastically) changin my food, I am able to be off from insulin and could reduce the tablets by 50%.If you want to give a try, please let me know details about you. I will try to describe the food I am taking with local names for vegetables etc.

Regards.

P.V.Sankar
