Navitas Naturals Review

Navitas Naturals is a certified organic, green business located in Marin County, California which was created by Zach Adelman in 2003. "Navitas"  is the Latin word for energy, and their mission is to provide premuim organic functional foods that increase energy and enhance health. Their superfood prducts are nutrient-rich and loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and are always free of additives and trans fats.
Here is the mission of Navitas Naturals:

Our company is committed to socially and environmentally responsible business practices. We source our premium functional foods through direct partnerships with farming communities around the world. An essential part of our mission is to create economic opportunities among indigenous people in developing countries, and our support of native agriculture helps expand development of global organic farming practices.
I was sent Cacao Powder, Yacon Syrup, and Mulberry Berries. The Cacao Powder has a strong cacao taste and contains important antioxidants and minerals, like magnesium and iron. The Yacon Syrup is an organic sweetener that tastes similar to molasses, has half the calories of cane sugar, and contains a high concentration of the indigestible sugar inulin, making it acceptable for diabetics (since it is low glycemic) and those looking to cut calories. The Mulberry Berries look similar to raisins, but taste much better! They are actually considered a protein source, and are an excellent source of iron, calcium, vitamin C, and fiber. There are a lot of recipes on the website that I found to use these products in. I made the Chocolate & Berries Protein Shake with some slight modifications; I used the Yacon Syrup in place of the Palm Sugar, some whey protein powder I had at home in place of the Protein Twister Blend, and only used half of what was recommended in this recipe as far as the bananas go (bananas have more sugar than I like to consume in that amount). I also used the Mulberry Berries in this shake for part of the mixed frozen berries, although they were obviously not frozen. This shake was wonderful! The cacoa and berries compliment each other very nicely! I even felt healthier just thinking about all of the antioxidants, minerals, and fiber that I had gotten out of this one shake. I definitely recommend these products for your health!
